Bunús – eCommerce design

Independent Irish fashion brand focused on sustainable, limited-edition wearable art

🧾 The Brief

Context

This was a design challenge given to me by a company during an interview process back in 2021. I since then revisited it to improve the UI and add some motion effects.

About Bunús (Fictional Brand)

Bunús is an award-winning, independent Irish fashion collective that creates limited-edition, unisex clothing. The brand focuses on high-quality, sustainable fashion, using Fairtrade-certified organic cotton and 100% recycled fabrics.

Each garment is traceable back to its source, reflecting Bunús’ commitment to transparency and ethical fashion. The brand’s mission is to empower creativity and foster a strong sense of identity and belonging through Irish design.

The Challenge

Bunús aims to elevate its digital presence with a world-class website and eCommerce store. The primary business goals include:

  • Increasing global visibility and conversions.
  • Creating a premium, high-fashion digital experience that reflects the brand’s values.
  • Strengthening collaboration and sales opportunities with Irish retailers and partners.
  • Positioning Bunús as a leader in sustainable Irish design.

Project Objectives

  • Design a visually striking, editorial-style brochure site with integrated eCommerce functionality.
  • Communicate Bunús’ brand values: sustainability, transparency, creativity, and Irish craftsmanship.
  • Optimise for mobile-first, while delivering a refined and intuitive desktop experience.
  • Develop a clear content hierarchy and structure for strong SEO performance.

👥 Understanding the Users

I identified two primary user groups, each with distinct goals:

1. Customers

Goal: Discover and purchase meaningful, sustainable fashion.
Needs:

  • Emotional resonance through visual identity and product messaging
  • Clear product storytelling (fabric, origin, values)
  • Easy mobile navigation and checkout
  • Trust signals (limited editions, traceability, Irish-made)

2. Designers & Retail Partners

Goal: Explore collaboration and partnership opportunities.
Needs:

  • Access to past/current collaborations
  • Brand ethos and values made transparent
  • Contact and partnership pathways
  • Recognition of Bunús’ industry credibility and award-winning status

To address their pain points, I considered:

  • What motivates their visit?
  • What information do they need in order to act?
  • What hesitations might they have, and how can I counter them?
